BioHello,

My name is Nika Jagdzijanc, and I am an A-level student with a fervent aspiration to become an architect, deeply committed to enhancing communities and fostering sustainability. Growing up in the small town of Mažeikiai, I witnessed firsthand the impact that poorly designed buildings can have on the emotions and sense of belonging of local residents. This experience ignited my passion for architecture and reinforced my belief in the power of thoughtful design. In contrast, my time spent in Brighton has exposed me to vibrant and innovative architectural styles, highlighting the integral role that design plays in promoting community well-being and improving quality of life.

In addition to pursuing four A-level subjects, I am actively involved in a variety of extracurricular activities that enrich my educational experience. I have been playing the piano since I was in year three and continually challenge myself to learn new pieces independently, reflecting my dedication to personal growth and lifelong learning.

I thrive in collaborative environments and actively embrace teamwork, even when faced with challenges. At my sixth form in Lancing, I have had the opportunity to contribute to various sports as a member of both the first and second hockey teams, as well as the girls' cricket team. Recently, I have also discovered a new passion for volleyball, which has added another dimension to my athletic pursuits.

In my role as House Captain and peer supporter at Lancing, I take pride in leading events and providing support to fellow students dealing with personal issues, a responsibility bolstered by comprehensive training I have received in this area. My artistic journey began in 2014, with drawing classes that sparked a passion for visual arts. Since then, I have participated in exhibitions and taken on creative projects, such as designing floats for parades, all of which have nurtured my love for art and design and further shaped my aspirations to create meaningful spaces through architecture.
